The Collections featured on
this website are just a small selection of the countless pieces of
jewellery I've created over the years. I also design
special items on a commission basis and these taster images
shown here give a tiny glimpse of these commissions. In
many of these I like to combine highly individualistic
design with unusual gemstones. Sometimes a customer
approaches me with fairly specific ideas for my
interpretation, other times they just know they want
something special, and from that the idea evolves.

This magnificent boulder opal
displays a wonderful seascape appearance.
Grant fashioned an 18ct yellow gold surround to protect the opal, yet not detract from its beauty.
Boulder opal occurs when opal fills cavities in a host rock, and on this particular opal the mount was made specifically to
be able to show the beauty and interest of the back of the opal's rocky past.
18 carat yellow gold collars were made to tie in with collars on the 18ct heavy chain to complete this most eye catching and
unique necklace. |

Tanzanite is really best complimented by white gold or platinum. Here this stunning square stone was set
in 18ct white gold by Grant. In this particular ring the customer was heavily involved in the design, having specific ideas
as to how he wanted the ring to look, but being guided by Grant's wealth of experience.
A main reason for Tanzanite's success is that it exhibits more shades of blue than a clear midnight sky due to a phenomenon
call pleochroism, whereby different colours are seen in different directions of the gemstone. Frequently, Tanzanite
exhibits a color change from the more bluish hues under daylight, to pinkish violets under incandescent light
(candlelight). Most of the time, you can actually see both colors simultaneously.
A thousand times rarer than diamonds and with a little over a decade of mine life remaining, Tanzanite is a fashion gem
of the moment! |

This sophisticated ring was made as an engagement ring.

commissioned to be lovingly crafted and sculpted to tenderly yet securely embrace such a very special
princess cut diamond.
The brilliance of the gem itself sparkles and radiates beauty within the elegant flowing ring. |

An inspirational design using princess cut diamonds.
This stunning 18ct white gold ring is set with eight princess cut diamonds leading the eye effortlessly to the magnificent
central generously sized princess cut diamond. Grant came up with the novel idea of including princess cut diamonds on the
verticle surface of the ring.
As a result of the extra facetting when cutting this type of diamond, princess cuts are naturally more brilliant and
sparkly than ordinary square diamonds. This piece is certainly not short on sparkle! |
